Pants down! This was our first quarter of 2023
Here it is again - an article from our series "Are packaging-free stores just lining their own pockets?" Your feedback was consistently positive and we want to continue to be radically transparent. And that includes disclosing our finances. Because we have nothing to hide.
5,448 customers
purchased groceries, household, cosmetic and cleaning products from us between January 1 and March 31, 2023. On average, around 72 customers visit us on site and in our online shop every day .
4,030 euros
We pay 3.2 percent of our gross turnover to the state as value added tax (this is the sales tax balance - after deduction of input tax).
58,739 euros
we have spent on goods since January 2023. This corresponds to 52.8 percent of our net sales of 111,634 euros.
33,605 euros
were paid as wages and salaries to our employees between January and March 2023.
8,990 euros
were deducted from our account for social security contributions as well as income and church tax. In total, we have 38.3 percent of net sales were spent.
So far 0 Euro profit
We were also unable to make a profit in the first quarter of 2023. All of the costs listed here do not include: rent, licenses, office supplies, postage, fees for banks and payment service providers, and much more.
Are we therefore running a business that is doomed to fail? No! We firmly believe that the unpackaged concept is sustainable and important. However, some changes take time to become visible. We are working hard to ensure that our revenues exceed our expenses in the second quarter of 2023 will be exceeded.
