DIY wax block, vegan 30g

Do-it-yourself! In the spirit of zero waste, you can now make your own wax cloths with the vegan DIY wax block from littlebeefresh or simply freshen up your old cloths.

If your oilcloth no longer sticks well and the wax layer has become thinner, you can quickly and easily refresh it with our original wax mixture.
You can also make your own wax cloths in the oven at home using the step-by-step instructions.

The DIY wax block has a fabric weight of 120g/m² and is enough for 2 cloths measuring 25x25 cm. These are approximate values ​​and can vary depending on the thickness and quality of the fabric.

Vegan plant wax and tree resin from the black pine from a traditional tar factory in Lower Austria.

Application

1. Preheat the oven to 110°C and place a baking tray lined with baking paper and the cloth on top.
2. Using a coarse cheese grater (or a knife), grate some wax shavings from the wax block and spread them generously on the cloth.
3. Place in the oven and wait a moment until the wax mixture has melted.
4. If necessary, you can spread the wax with a brush.
5. Remove the tray and immediately remove the cloth from the baking tray while the wax is still liquid. Let the cloth cool down.

Tips:
The easiest way to clean an old cheese grater is with hot water and dishwashing liquid.
The block is easier to grate if you put it in the fridge first.
