Zero Waste Gift Ideas at the Last Minute

It's almost too late again and you don't have all your presents yet? Don't go on a shopping spree and buy things without thinking that will end up in the bin. We've put together some ideas for zero-waste gifts that will work even at the last minute. Make your own ginger shots.

DIY cosmetics

Conventional peelings from the drugstore are not only packed in unnecessary packaging and expensive, but also often contain microplastics.

Our tip: Make your own peeling and give it away! Two particularly simple yet effective recipes: honey and coarse salt or coffee grounds and olive oil. With the latter, you can reuse your old coffee at the same time!

Fill it into a screw-top jar, label it and you have a wonderful, homemade Christmas present without any plastic.

Homemade Granola

A Christmas muesli, and homemade too? No problem. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and mix around 300 g of oat flakes with 100 g of chopped almonds, a pinch of cinnamon, a little vanilla and a pinch of salt.

Melt 100 g honey and 100 g coconut oil in a water bath and mix into the oat flakes. Spread the mixture on a baking tray (e.g. one lined with our permanent baking mat ) and bake for around 10 minutes. Turn and bake for another 5 minutes. It's best to stay by the oven for the last few minutes and check regularly, as the granola burns quickly. Then allow to cool completely and pour into a washed jar. Et voila!
